What does it actually cost to sell?+

A flat 5% commission on the item subtotal of each completed sale. Keepstall charges nothing else: free registration, free listings, no monthly subscription during launch, and no required advertising spend. Card and payout fees are passed on at cost.

When is the commission calculated?+

On the item subtotal, before shipping and taxes. If a customer pays $40 for an item and $8 for shipping, the commission is 5% of $40, never on the shipping charge.

Who pays for shipping?+

The buyer does. For US shops, the buyer pays the carrier rate quoted at checkout, and that payment covers the label you print from your dashboard. We never add a markup. Shops outside the US set their own shipping price and keep the full shipping charge.

What about payment processing?+

Card processing is charged at the real cost Stripe bills on each payment and shown on every order: usually 2.9% plus $0.30, and 1.5% more when the buyer uses a card from outside the US. Stripe payouts cost 0.25% plus $0.25 per payout and $2 in each month you are paid. Bank transfer payouts carry the transfer fee. Keepstall adds no markup to any of these.

How quickly do I get paid?+

Like Etsy, Keepstall pays on a regular payday, and your dashboard always shows the next one. An order counts toward payday once tracking shows it was delivered, or 7 days after it ships, whichever comes first. On payday you get one payment for all your finished orders, with one payout fee. Shops in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe are paid to their Stripe account, and Stripe pays into their bank. Shops in other countries are paid by bank transfer from the Keepstall team.

Can I use my own shipping carrier?+

Shops outside the US always use their own carrier and add the tracking number to each order. US shops print discounted USPS, UPS, and FedEx labels from the dashboard.

Can I sell from outside the United States?+

Yes. Shops in 44 countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, the UK, and Canada, can apply. You choose your country when you apply, list in US dollars, set your own shipping price, and ship with a local carrier such as DHL. You are responsible for making sure your products can be imported where your buyers live.

Do I need an LLC or business license?+

Sole proprietors are welcome. Stripe Connect will ask for the tax and identity details required in your country before payouts are enabled.

Can I bring an existing shop?+

Yes. You can list a catalog of any size on day one. Bulk image and variant entry is supported from the product editor.
