Keepstall charges sellers a commission of 5% of the item subtotal of each sale, after shop discounts and before shipping and tax. There is no listing fee and no monthly fee during launch. The commission is never reduced by other costs.
The costs of moving money are passed on to the seller at cost and shown on each order and payout. These are: the card fee Stripe actually charges on the payment, including its extra fee for cards issued outside the United States; the Stripe Tax fee when sales tax is calculated; Stripe's payout fees for sellers paid through Stripe Connect (currently 0.25% plus $0.25 per payout and $2 in each month a seller is paid); the transfer fee for sellers paid by bank transfer; and the card network's fee when a buyer files a chargeback, which is credited back if the chargeback is won.
Keepstall collects payment from the buyer as the seller's limited agent. A buyer's payment to Keepstall counts as payment to the seller.
To protect buyers, a seller's proceeds for an order are held until the carrier shows the parcel was delivered, the buyer confirms they received it, or 7 days after it ships, whichever comes first. Proceeds stay on hold while a buyer's case or a chargeback on that order is open.
Finished orders are paid on Keepstall's regular payday, shown with its next date on the seller dashboard. Each seller receives one payment per payday covering all of its finished orders. Keepstall may change the payday schedule with notice on the seller dashboard.
Sellers in supported countries are paid through Stripe Connect and must complete Stripe's identity checks. Sellers in other countries are paid by bank transfer and must provide payout details and a valid US tax form (Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E).
When a buyer is refunded, the seller covers the refund, apart from any sales tax refunded. It is taken from the order's proceeds, and the commission and card fee are not returned, because Keepstall and the card network do not get them back. If proceeds were already paid out, or do not cover the refund, the rest is taken from the seller's next payouts or Stripe balance. The same applies when a chargeback is lost.
Where the law makes Keepstall responsible for collecting sales tax on marketplace sales, Keepstall collects it from buyers and pays it to the tax authority.
